You don't just want to build a shop, you want to own it for the long run? At RidersDeal you are the technical voice of the company: you decide on the architecture and code quality of our Magento 2 shop and work directly with our managing director.

RidersDeal is an online shop for equestrian sports with 100,000 products and a community of 500,000 riders. Operations are stable, processes and KPIs are in place. What's missing is the person who owns the technology.

Our stack
Magento 2 on Adobe Commerce Cloud, a move to Open Source is being evaluated, Hyvä under evaluation, Odoo (Python) as our ERP, Mollie, Power BI, Jira, AI tools such as Claude.


Your mission

  • You own architecture and code quality and approve every piece of code, including that of our external developers and our agency.
  • You lead two long-standing external developers on the technical side: priorities, tickets, reviews.
  • You build things yourself, front end and back end.
  • You work closely with Marketing, Product and Operations and turn their needs into technical solutions that work in the shop.
  • You assess whether moving from Adobe Commerce to Magento Open Source makes sense for us, and you lead the migration if we decide to go ahead.
  • You bring AI-assisted development into our daily work and decide where it really helps.

Your profile

  • Several years of Magento 2 experience as a full stack developer, including building your own modules.
  • Experience with code reviews and the drive to make other people's code better.
  • You say: this is my area, and I stand behind it.
  • You explain technology in plain language and you can say no.
  • Open to new things: you enjoy working with AI tools and have basic Python skills, since our ERP Odoo is built on it.
  • Good English or German.

  • Nice to have: experience with Odoo, Hyvä, Adobe Commerce Cloud, migrations to Magento Open Source and hosting outside the Adobe Cloud.

We are a close-knit team, we enjoy working together and we have lunch together. That's why we're looking for someone who is there in person, joins the discussion and is part of the group. Usually you'll be with us in Unterhaching three days a week; we agree on the exact split together and flexibly.

About us

RidersDeal was founded in 2012 by German and Oz. The platform RidersDeal originated from the original idea of a “community buy for horse gear.” Since then, we have evolved and are proud to say that we are Germany’s leading deal platform for equestrians.

In addition to our daily highly attractive sales campaigns, we offer riders across the German-speaking region around 80,000 products from a wide variety of European equestrian brands and have built a huge community of hundreds of thousands of horse enthusiasts.

Behind RidersDeal is a highly motivated team of around 40 employees, all working to provide our members with the best deals. What unites us all is a love for riding and horses. This passion enables our purchasing team to secure amazing deals at top prices.

Our back office team, responsible for general organization and customer communication, works every day to answer questions promptly and provide support in all matters. Our logistics team rolls up their sleeves to ensure orders reach our customers quickly.

We also place great importance on making the shopping experience as enjoyable as possible for our members, which is why we are constantly evolving. But that’s not all — our own brand, RidersChoice, has become one of Germany’s most well-known equestrian brands, representing top quality at fair prices.
